There are few things in life that cause a bigger frenzy for fashion girls than a new shoe trend—and a new boot trend is just icing on the cake. For the past few weeks, our EIC Kat Collings and I have been frantically DMing photos back and forth about a bubbling boot shape that we're predicting is about to blow up. We're not quite sure what to call this one yet, but it's reminiscent of an '80s-inspired Western boot.
Said boot shape is characterized by a slight dip in the front with sides that remain higher and straight across through the back. Some versions like these Isabel Marant beauties have more of a Western-inspired feel, while the MOMO NEW YORK ones give nod to the '80s. We've noticed different iterations of this shape on the Instagram accounts of some of the most directional fashion girls, meaning this trend is percolating and on the verge of going mainstream. Mark our words—a few months from now everyone will be coveting this style.
Below, you'll see how the fashion crowd is currently wearing this It shoe, and in case you fancy yourself a pair now, we've shopped out some of our favorite styles that are already available.
